What is My Restorative Physical Therapy Telehealth?

My Restorative Physical Therapy Telehealth or Telemedicine allows for physical therapy services to be delivered via phone, smartphone, or computer-based technology.

What kinds of conditions can be treated with Telehealth?

The Following Conditions May be Treated with Telehealth:

  • Headache
  • Neck Pain
  • Shoulder Pain
  • Elbow Pain
  • Wrist & Hand Pain
  • Mid Back Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Ankle & Foot Pain
  • Postural Dysfunction
  • Body Mechanics
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Ergonomic/ Work Set Up Evaluation

Conditions that are Best Treated In Person/ Not Appropriate for Telehealth:

  • Patients with Post-Surgical Precautions for Passive Range of Motion Only
  • Patients with Poor Balance & Who are a Fall Risk
  • Any other reason that would make treating remotely UNSAFE for the Patient.

How are treatments conducted?

Physical Therapy sessions are conducted using a platform called Doxy.me. This is a FREE HIPAA-compliant (e.g. privacy protected) platform for patients to access their healthcare via video conferencing. You can access Doxy.me using your smartphone or through a web browser on your computer.

I will send you an invitation during the Scheduling & Intake process with a link to easily access the Virtual Waiting Room. You “Check In” to the Virtual Waiting Room 5 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment time. When I have finished with my previous patient, I will Connect the Call.

How do I best prepare for my appointments?

Ideally, you would have a distraction-free space with a place where you could set/ prop your phone or laptop with a view of your entire couch (empty your couch of everything except cushions and throw pillows).

You would be dressed in loose/ comfortable clothing that would allow for exercise and expose the treatment body part (if needed).

Can I use my insurance?

Most health insurance providers are currently covering Telehealth Physical Therapy at the same rate as in-person PT care. This coverage is currently anticipated to last through the end of September 2020.

If for whatever reason your insurance carrier does not cover Physical Therapy via Telehealth, a cash rate will be negotiated.

If my insurance does not cover care, how much does this cost?

How will payments be processed for my treatment sessions?

My Restorative Physical Therapy uses Intuit QuickBooks and GoPayment for payments, billing, and bookkeeping. Credit card payment would be collected within your video call.

Can I submit for reimbursement with my insurance company?

My Restorative Physical Therapy will always document your care to high quality standards to allow for visits to be submitted for reimbursement if your insurance provider has a process in place for this.
