One for Change by My Restorative Physical Therapy
My hope for the future is that Physical Therapy is more involved in preventing pain and dysfunction. The vast majority of Physical Therapy at present focuses on treating active problems. In order to spearhead the movement of Physical Therapy to a more Preventative focus, I created “One for Change”.
What is “One for Change”? My Restorative Physical Therapy is a new business (established in 2019). I have no idea what lays in store for My Restorative PT or for my future either. The initial plan is to donate 1% of My Restorative Physical Therapy’s profits to organizations that also support this vision.
We’ve Already Started. As I sit here writing this, the website has not been launched, the doors are not “open” for treatment, and I have not made a single penny. Yet, I felt compelled that My Restorative Physical Therapy’s First Purchase Ever be a donation.
Where My First Donation Went
Project Fit America
Project Fit America is a charitable organization that has been helping inspiring movement and health in American children for 30 years. Efforts are focused on multiple levels, helping to secure financial resources, as well as education for teachers, the curriculum they instruct, and the resources they need to create a healthier America.
Another Organization I Have My Eyes On
Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA)
Backed by former First Lady Michelle Obama, this program focuses on addressing the obesity crisis from both ends of the spectrum. They achieve this by inspiring healthier choices and movements in American children and simultaneously working up the supply chain, demanding more nutritious, high quality food be available. Period.
